The Pre-K2 program serves children who are 2 years old by September 1 and are ready to begin participating in a structured early childhood classroom. This program supports the whole child by emphasizing social-emotional growth, early language development, independence, and foundational learning skills through developmentally appropriate practices. Children in Pre-K2 are guided as they learn classroom routines, practice separation from caregivers, and develop positive interactions with peers and teachers. A predictable and nurturing environment helps children feel secure while building confidence, curiosity, and trust. Instruction is play-based and teacher-directed, incorporating early literacy exposure, sensory experiences, music and movement, fine- and gross-motor development, and intentional social skill instruction. Teachers model self-regulation, problem-solving, and respectful communication, laying the groundwork for continued growth in future preschool programs. The Pre-K2 program works in partnership with families to support each child’s developmental progress and to provide a thoughtful and positive introduction to school life.
